DESCRIPTION:wsg: Riley Pinkerton\, Dave Morrison and Willa Rae \nhttps://mountainbabies.bandcamp.com/ \nAbout Riley: Riley Pinkerton is a singer-songwriter based in NYC. In January 2016 Pinkerton released her debut EP titled “Do You Have A Car\,” recorded at “Yes\, Master Studios” in the Lower East Side of Manhattan. Brian Carroll of Folk/Americana music review site\, RedLineRoots.com\, described Pinkerton’s “Do You Have A Car” as “Beautiful in the simplicity of its execution\, but profound all the while in how she can make you feel so much with so little in a few guitar lines and a voice…” and “Moving\, poignant\, [and] ethereal…” Pinkerton has been touring throughout the continental U.S.\, often in support of New England folk singer-songwriter\, Ian Fitzgerald. When home\, Pinkerton continues writing and recording demos in anticipation of her debut full-length album. \n

SUMMARY:Blair Crimmins and the Hookers
DESCRIPTION:Best Songwriter 2013 ”Crimmins has never been more refined than on this year’s Sing-A-Longs CD. If he caters to any genre\, it’s one that’s entirely his own\, and that’s something a lot of guys with pens and guitars either don’t know how to do\, or don’t have the guts to do.” – Creative Loafing \nBlair Crimmins began his current music career in Atlanta\, Georgia\, with a determination to bring Ragtime and 1920’s style Dixieland Jazz to new audiences. What he created was a sound that is at once modern while being deeply rooted in the past. Now four years\, and five hundred shows later\, he has toured the Eastern United States playing large venues and has opened for national acts such as Mumford & Sons and Preservation Hall Jazz Band. A multi-instrumentalist and music academic\, Crimmins writes songs and arrangements for a classic New Orleans style horn section consisting of Trumpet\, Clarinet\, Trombone. His debut release “The Musical Stylings Of” became a college radio sensation on WRAS Atlanta making him the most requested band on the air. His last release and video “State Hotel” landed them a full feature in Creative Loafing Atlanta. In 2012 Crimmins showed his musical diversity by writing and recording the full score for the independent short film “Old Man Cabbage”. The following year\, Crimmins was the critics pick for Best Song Writer of 2013 in Creative Loafing’s Best of ATL issue. Blair Crimmins now continues touring this year to support his newest studio album entitled “Sing-a-longs”\, a break through record which showcases a band who have polished their signature sound from years of touring. \n  \n  \nhttp://www.blaircrimminsandthehookers.com/

SUMMARY:CURRENT: Caleb Gutierrez
DESCRIPTION:Every Wednesday Cliff Bell’s brings you Current: the new sounds of Soul in Detroit. Hosted by DJ Nick Austin of  WDET’s “New Soul Sunday’s”\, CURRENT will feature the new crop of soul musicians performing in and around Detroit. This week’s featured artist is Caleb Gutierrez. \nHis former band mate referred to him as “Somebody who has that power and depth of a Levi Stubbs and the full vocal range of Stevie Wonder – and can get a little gritty and sound like Rob Tyner. Somebody who can symbolize all these Detroit vocalists and have their own thing at the same time.” That’s Caleb Gutierrez. Caleb is one of the hottest male singing artists in the Motor City. He has style\, good looks\, charm\, humility\, and an incredible voice. For years we have heard that distinctive voice resonating throughout the concert halls and nightclubs of Detroit as the popular lead singer of The Infatuations. But now Caleb has chosen to embark on a new solo career backed by an exceptional group of musicians who have come together to play for him. Get ready for something Special! \n
