DESCRIPTION:A native Detroiter and an internationally known jazz artist\, Sandra received a musical\nscholarship from the University of Massachusetts\, and has also studied voice under\nlegendary artists such as Sheila Jordan\, Dr. Billy Taylor\, Alma Smith and Dr. Yusef Lateef. Sandra Bomar’s voice has been influenced by greats such as Nancy\nWilson\, Sarah Vaughn\, Phyllis Hyman\, Gloria Lynne and Dinah Washington.\nShe has established herself as a notable jazz stylist whose sultry voice can be heard\naround the Metro Detroit area in venues such as Baker’s Keyboard Lounge\, the\nDIA\, Bert’s Place\, the Dirty Dog Jazz Café\, Aretha’s Jazz Cafe\,\nNikolas\, Omara’s and many others. \nSandra has also performed at the Detroit Jazz festival\, the Toronto Jazz Festival and the Michigan Jazz Festival as well as the legendary Greenmill in Chicago\, Il and as well a tour of the United Kingdom.  She has also performed in the stage production of Cheek to Cheek. DESCRIPTION:Trumpet player\, vocalist\, composer\, and arranger\, Dave Vessella’s unique sound is reminiscent of traditional New Orleans music and west coast jazz a la Chet Baker. Vessella has played at the Detroit Jazz Festival and the Panama Jazz Festival with Wayne State University and Danilo Perez\, Walter White’s Big Band at the Michigan Jazz Festival\, The Detroit Pistons house band and many more within Detroit\, Chicago\, and Los Angeles. This heavy influence of Louis Armstrong lead to Miles Davis\, Frank Sinatra\, Nat King Cole and more\, which has anchored him deep in the tradition of jazz and blues. Dave holds a M.M. from Wayne State University and a B.A. in Jazz Studies from Columbia College Chicago.

DESCRIPTION:Meri Slaven is a jazz vocalist presently performing mainly in and around the Detroit Area. She grew up in the area in a very musical family and played clarinet\, piano and accordion throughout her childhood and adolescence. She then became a classical voice major at Florida Atlantic University\, and studied privately with renowned dramatic tenor Eddy Ruhl before crossing over to jazz. After which she could be seen performing in Miami and around southern Florida. Then she relocated to NYC where she performed for a few years before moving back to the Detroit area.
