Multi-saxophonist and jazz master Doug Horn is truly one-of-a-kind. Doug’s jazz larger-then-life personality is shaped by his wide-ranging and eclectic influences, spanning from Phil Woods, Dexter Gordon, Charlie Parker and Buddy Rich to Patsy Kline, Eddie Arnold, Ray Charles and The Three Stooges. Doug is a fun and free-wheeling entertainer whose stage presentation is always delightful and surprising. Doug prefers to perform acoustically, with no microphones or amplifiers (in his words: “We are AHP – All Human Powered.”)
The Doug Horn Trio’s repertoire draws mainly from the Great American Songbook, the bebop catalog of Charlie Parker and Doug’s own memorable original jazz compositions.
Doug Horn’s new PKO Records jazz CD High Standards features his long-time bandmates pianist Rick Roe and string bassist Paul Keller.
