Saxophonist and Composer, Bobby Muncy has been called “an adventurous local tenor saxophone player” by The Washington Post. The DCist writes that his “eclecticism is reflected in Muncy’s writing…reveal a broad range of influences, from John Coltrane to Radiohead.” Mike West of the Washington City Paper describes his writing as “equal parts Hoagy Carmichael and Hector Berlioz” and writes of his playing, “the momentum that Muncy was able to build on each instrument, winding into long, powerful lines that could startle in their heft or melodic charm.” Bobby is originally from Miami, FL, has lived in Washington, DC for the last 15 years and is now a resident of Ann Arbor, MI.

Bobby Muncy received his bachelors degree in jazz studies from Florida State University in 2001, his masters degree in jazz saxophone performance from The University of Maryland in 2004
