										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Originally from Detroit, Michigan, Noah Jackson is a bassist, cellist, and composer playing a wide variety of music from jazz and classical, to funk and soul. A graduate of Michigan State University (B.M.) under the direction of Rodney Whitaker, and Manhattan School of Music (M.M.) with Dr. Larry Ridley, Noah Jackson has been performing internationally and across the US with many top acts in music. Known for his infectious time, support, and creativity, his distinct sound is a presence that compliments nearly any musical situation.</p>
<p>Noah has performed with world renowned artists such as Abdullah Ibrahim, Branford Marsails, Jason Marsalis, The Marsalis Family, Hugh Masekela, Jazzmeia Horn, George Burton, JD Allen, Terrence Blanchard, Keyon Harold, Ravi Coltrane, Gloria Gaynor, and Winard Harper. Additionally, he&#8217;s performed in many prominent venues and jazz festivals including, but not limited to, Radio City Music Hall, Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM), Royal Albert Hall, The Library of Congress, Musical Instrument Museum, The Royal Conservatory (Toronto, ON), SFJAZZ, The New Orleans Jazz &amp; Heritage Festival, Detroit Jazz Festival, Joy of Jazz (Johannesburg, South Africa), London Jazz Festival, Cape Town Jazz Festival, Montreal Jazz Festival, and the Nice Jazz Festival.</p>
<p>As a member of NEA Jazz Master Abdullah Ibrahim&#8217;s quartet, Noah has recorded an improvised soundtrack for the John Irwin film- Mandela&#8217;s Gun which won a 2018 Harlem Film Festival Award for Best Soundtrack. As a bandleader, his jazz group Full Circle has performed in many venues around New York City and Detroit to well received audiences. His group recorded an album, &#8220;Contemplations: A Suite&#8221;, which has garnered critical praise. As a leader of the Ase string quartet, he was commissioned to compose and direct the quartet in a multidisciplinary collaborative art project- Practicing: Silence at Grace Farms under the direction of Kenyon Adams as part of their Practicing series alongside featured dancers from the American Ballet Theater.</p>
<p>Noah currently resides in Harlem, New York City.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Nathan began playing music at the age of five through the Suzuki cello program. Through grade school and middle school he also began to play the euphonium, tuba, and the string bass. He obtained a BA in Jazz Studies on string bass at Michigan State University under the direction of world famous bassist Rodney Whitaker. There he also studied classical bass with renowned bassist Jack Budrow. Nathan subsequently obtained a MM in Jazz studies on string bass as a graduate assistant at Northern Illinois University under the direction of Ronald Carter. As part of his assistantship at Northern Illinois University, Nathan taught jazz appreciation and history classes and directed small groups. After obtaining his MM Nathan taught as an adjunct bass instructor at Highland Community College in Freeport Illinois.</p>
<p>Currently living in New York City, Nathan is widely recognized as a rising star in jazz and is one of the most in demand bassists on the New York scene. His professional career includes performances with Joe Magnarelli, Philip Harper, Johnny O&#8217;Neal, Bill Saxton, Frank Morgan, Dion Parson, Wess “Warmdaddy” Anderson, Sullivan Fortner, Paquito D’Rivera, Don Braden, Lewis Nash, Wycliffe Gordon, Derrick Gardner, Vincent Gardner, John Faddis, Louis Hayes, Carl Allen, Willie Pickens, Russell Gunn, Ron and Cecil Bridgewater, Fareed Haque, Randy Brecker, Brian Lynch, Bobby Broom, Marquis Hill, Milton Suggs, Sol Yaged, and many others. He has performed at esteemed venues and festivals including Jazz at Lincoln Center, the Kennedy Center, the Detroit International Jazz Festival, the Queenstown Jazz Festival, and has performed on tours across America, Canada, Asia, and Australasia.<br />
As a bandleader Nathan has recorded two albums. His current ensemble is a guitar, bass, drums trio featuring Felix Lemerle on guitar and Peter Traunmueller on drums. The Nathan Brown Trio released their album &#8220;This Is The Moment&#8221; through Gut String Records in September 2017. &#8220;This Is The Moment&#8221; debuted at #47 on JazzWeek Top 50 chart for jazz radio play and made it to #20 on the NACC Top 30 Jazz Chart for college radio play. The album is currently in play on over 210 jazz radio programs worldwide including on Public Radio International&#8217;s &#8220;Jazz After Hours&#8221; program. His trio&#8217;s press and radio campaigns culminated in a successful 3-week album release tour throughout New Zealand and Australia, including performances at the prestigious Queenstown Jazz Festival, NZ.</p>
<p>Outside of his performance career Nathan is also a music producer/manager/agent. He is the founder and president of Brownbass Music LLC, an arts and entertainment management &amp; consulting company focusing on the development, branding, and marketing of emerging jazz artists. His clients include world-renown 7 and 6-string guitarist Ron Jackson and vocalist Lucia Jackson.</p>
