Buffalo Kid is a trio that features Stuart Lyons, drums, David Dunham, guitar, Jeffry Cuny, bass. The trio began playing together as the rhythm section in the WSU Big Band from 2016-2018, and served as their house rhythm section. Also under the name Jeffry Cuny trio the ensemble plays every Friday at Cliff Bell’s from 5:30pm-8:15pm. As Buffalo Kid the focus is on original music and free improvisation. Influences are rooted in the avant-garde and pull from artists like the Bad Plus, Ornette Coleman, Tim Berne, and Cecil Taylor.
