The Detroit Music Award nominee is a Detroit native; guitarist, vocalist, and songwriter. Getting his start with Motor City Josh at the tender age of 19, Johnny has been on and off the road ever since; including tours to Europe, Mexico, the Caribbean and of course the US. He gets his ‘old soul’ sound from an array of blues artist he grew up listening to, including; BB King, Albert King, Albert Collins, Ray Charles and more. Rhoades also had the honor of playing at BB king’s memorial celebration in Memphis, Tennessee. With over a decade and counting music career, he has played with the best of best in the blues, such as; Thornetta Davis, Motor City Josh, RJ Spangler, Brett Lucas, John Nèmeth, Paul Carey to name a few.
