Lex Korten is a performer and composer from New York City who has become a pivotal pianist in his generation of the contemporary Jazz community, gathering accolades from worldwide audiences, publications and great luminary figures alike. Acknowledged by The New York Times, DownBeat, JazzTimes, WNYC and other outlets for his charismatic, vulnerable improvisatory approach and unquestionable musicianship, Korten unyieldingly seeks to nurture a deeper multidirectional experience between artists and listeners, and to honor his adopted home among the great Black American Musical art forms. His debut LP “Canopy” (Sounderscore SO 011), was recently met with widespread critical acclaim, landing on multiple year-end lists cataloguing the best releases and debuts of 2025.
