Detroit jazz vocalist Olivia Van Goor has a new holiday jazz record called “Waiting For Santa”. A collection of originals and lesser-known classics, the album is unlike any other in your collection. As Detroit bassist and educator Jeff Pedraz wrote in the liner notes, “…together, this ensemble creates a recording that isn’t overproduced, but instead reflects the essence of childhood-innocent, simple, sweet and full of joy and playfulness.” Olivia is touring the album in Michigan in surrounding states, with Cliff Bell’s as the premier Detroit location. Additionally, December 18th at Cliff Bell’s is the only show in Detroit to hear the whole record top to bottom with the same rhythm section: Mike Harrison on piano, Reuben Stump on bass, and Dave Zwolinski on drums. “Waiting For Santa” is available everywhere you listen to music, with CD, Vinyl, and merch available at the show.
