Michael Hu is an 18 year old tenor saxophonist and multi-instrumentalist from Metro Detroit (Rochester Hills) currently attending the University of Michigan to pursue Jazz Studies. He has studied with legendary jazz musicians all over the world including Eric Alexander, Andrew Bishop, Robert Hurst, and many others. His style is heavily influenced by Sonny Rollins and John Coltrane and involves anything from free improvisation to pocket groove.
He has recently recorded an album entitled “Loss For Words” which includes originals as well as two other tunes by great American composers which will be released soon in 2019.
