Two separate artists who come together LIVE on the same stage, at the same time to perform songs from each other’s vast discographies. Enter the stage, Zo! + Carmen Rodgers. With a combined total of more than 10 individual projects, several of which have hit the Billboard charts at one time or another, they still fly under-the-radar while stealthily dishing solid servings of soul food to a seemingly starved scene. But folks who are steeped in the underground scene, fans of them individually or as members of The Foreign Exchange crew especially, have already set their Spotify/Pandora stations accordingly, having seen Zo! and Carmen touring successfully.
On stage, Carmen delivers sweet, sultry & smoky vocals, with a hint of Texas grit and southern daint, as only a native Dallas gal can. Zo! brings it all together showcasing his musical visions with thick layers of keyboards and synthesizers that ride rhythm-heavy, melodic tracks reminiscent of his native Detroit – all while possessing an audience rapport as easy-going as his smile. Together, they present tunes from all of their projects including their newest releases, Carmen’s Stargazer (Purpose Music Group/Nia) and Zo!’s SkyBreak (+FE Music).
You may be more accustomed to seeing Zo! + Carmen Rodgers on stage with a full band, but Piano & A Microphone will give you a chance to witness them delivering their songs completely “stripped down” to their core featuring only piano and vocals.
